It's not every day you see people queueing outside banks to withdraw their savings, especially in a developed country (well done nuklr.dave for the picture on St Enoch Square in Glasgow). The Northern Rock near-bankruptcy, a consequence of last summer's financial crisis, gives me the shudders when I think of my bank account at the NatWest. Mind you, I wouldn't lose very much.

Northern Rock... scary

I have a loan with Northern Rock. I was kind of hoping they would go down and my loan would be cancelled ... :-)
Looks like they're going to make it though!
